“Chintan Chautari”: Platform For Conflict Sensitive Media Producers

Website Creator: Niraj Dahal

This webpage(still in progress) is a gateway for all the artists, mainly writers, painters, observers, knowledge-enablers and data managers to post their content on respective heading, which they will be able to post. The catch is those creators will be provided with short message citing the content to be checked by admin. Using this way being followed by conflict onion model to analyze the content, me being the admin, I will apply my knowledge learnt from this course, to eliminate and mitigate mis-information and dis-information. Target audience are content creators, who look for inspiration and knowledge in most ethnic way and raw as much as possible. Content creators can easily post their creation either in text, video or audio. They will select the category on which they want to publish, entering content they want to share and then, the admin checks it and approves it to go live on the webpage.

This is totally related to conflict-sensitive media, as these creators are always pushed back for other “viral” content, leaving these ethnic content creators out of their most passionate work. This leads to increment in fear, anger and hatred towards the society and on-going generations, which is of course going to spilled over upcoming generations. My view is conflict sensitive media or idea or such distribution always start from own home. When we acknowledge as such and let one sprout their observation and knowledge to others, there is no any conflict between the parties and the outcome always sticks to true meaning. That is when a better society is created that is focused on grasping and imparting knowledge.

This page was just started, with development of its other components ongoing. We are seeking help from international community to help us promote this product to people here at Nepal. We want to reach to the ones, who are living at their place and are seeing changes, in respective to their fields. That way, anyone can work at their own comfort place, yet helping viewers understand different parts to life around Nepal. We need training to reach to those people, and connect to people around the world, so we can learn those ‘un-gained’ skills and reach to people of Nepal.

Here is the website named Chintan Chautari that we are working on.
